Say Hello to Plum Pudding!

Review based on a 2011 offering.

Presented as a crumble cake, the tin reveals the rich, smoky aroma of Latakia leaf, with an underlying earthiness not unlike wet leaves.

A "cool" burning blend that takes well to any chamber shape and/or pipe material that does not require too much attention to keep lit.

The flavour profile of this blend is quite interesting, and highlights each of the component tobaccos nicely - at times, offering the rich peaty Latakia flavour, while at others offering up the herbed sweetness of the Oriental leaf. Throughout the bowl, this blend bring a characteristic saltiness which is quite pleasant.

A great "Medium English" or "Strong Balkan"; and definitely a welcome addition to the cellar.

first crumble

iv,e smoked english blends for years, but never a crumble cake before. this is very good indeed. it reminds me of night cap minus the strength. i,m wondering what the something extra is.smokey rich and soft on the pallet . pairs with a double double coffee for a morning wake up. then goes all day as well. i hope it never goes away!
