Perfection might be an overstatement.
If you don't like Latakia, stay away from this one. Not that it's too strong, it's just that there are other mild Latakia blends out there that are better.
The tin is about a year and half old and it smelled wonderful when I popped it. It is a basic latakia blend with no outstanding features. There was nothing to "write home" about with this one. This is one that I can honestly say, I can do with out it. It's an "alright" smoke though. The Latakia isn't as earthy as one would expect and I did get a hint of a floral taste, not bad and not aromatic but it was different enough that it caught my attention. I chalk it up to being from the Lakeland area. Those tobaccos seem to have more a floral or soapy flavor/taste/smell to them and I got a tiny hint of it in this one. The Vanilla barely, if ever came through. Wife hated the after smoke smell on me, which is a telling sign for me anyway. I think the bright Virginias are the cause of the bad after-cigarette smell. Also, I think it competed with the lat a little too much and completely knocked out the vanilla topping.
The smoke quality was good, lit well and stayed lit. Smoked it in a Savenelli Bing (Think oval stemmed Canadian with a "slight" valcano bowl) over an hours' time.
This is one that I would recommend but only if it's a free tin for you. Certainly not worth the wait in these SG shortage times.
