A Decent VA/Per Blend
This tobacco has about 22 months of age on it at time of review.
The pouch aroma (bulk) reminds me of dry grass/hay with some sweetness and quite a bot of spiciness. There is also a hint of tanginess to it.
At the start of the smoke I am detecting a dryness on my palate that reminds me of the tannins in a red wine. I taste the flavor of grassy/hay with some noticeable sweetness to it. There is also a flavor and aroma that I find very difficult to describe. It kind of reminds me of a pastry like flavor and aroma, but not really. Every time that I focus on it I realize that it is not really a pastry flavor or aroma, but I can think of no other way to describe it.
Around the 3/4 point the spiciness starts to build some. The grassy/hay like flavor has diminished and is replaced with a straight forward tobacco flavor that has some sweetness to it.
Around the mid-bowl point the spiciness has become very noticeable. Other than that, the flavor profile is the same as it was at the 3/4 point and it stayed this way until the end.
This is a a decent blend. It smokes cool, dry, and didn't bite. While it is a solid blend, there is just something about it that doesn't do much for me. There are other blends in the Hearth & Home Series that I prefer much more. I Recommend it.
