To blend great tobacco one has to be good,
Virginias being the hardest, to boot.
The Lauenburg people
(who think this is simple)
make Irish-style blends that could replace food.

My attempt at poetry aside (sorry, I just could not resist...), this is an impressive VA/Per blend. The tin note is fully sweet with a noticeable presence of Perique, even though it is hard to make out in the leaf. Being without any glue or humectants, Limerick is ready to light straight from the tin, fold/twist style or rubbed out. The leaf is not all that dark either, but a pack of smallish, medium brown slices.

Folded or rubbed-out, the smoke starts out sweet and gets a little deeper throughout the pipeful; the Perique only makes its presence felt in the latter half of the smoke in taste; in the room note it is there from the beginning with fruity-sweet and peppery notes.

As with all VA blends, sip slowly and you shall enjoy. If you suck too hard, so will the tobacco. For all VA/Per smokers, this is very highly recommended (says the guy who is smoking it at the time of this writing).
