Paul Revere made a wrong turn.
This review is taken from tins that have a few years on them, found in a shop during the time that it was discontinued by CAO. Paul Revere made a wrong turn and I am glad for the addition of perique.
When I stepped into that small town liquor store, I noticed they had some pipe tobacco's and some pipes for sale. To my excitement I found several blends that were discontinued. This blend amongst them.
Opening the tin gives a scent of tobacco and a fruity smell, like figs. The smell translates to the bowl somewhat. The perique gives the blend a really good balance. It is not the normally spicy flavor that is associated with most va/pers. This blend works as a good all day blend, but I really enjoy it at night. I tend to enjoy tobacco's most at night, with the exception of a good burley or Va/per, which I love in the mornings with coffee or a strong tea.
The blend burns nice, with only needing one relight after getting it started. I really enjoy this blend. I am glad they reintroduced them. I have not had anything that is remotely close to this blend, however I have been told that James Fox's Dorisco is a close match.
