A Heavy Latakia Blend
This tobacco had about 1 year of age on it when this review was done.
The pouch aroma (bulk) of this blend is sweet and smoky with a very light tang to it. The moisture level was on the dry side. The cut of the blend is large and chunky.
At the start of the smoke, the flavor was sweet, smoky, and woody with hints of hay. On the finish there was a light nutty flavor with a hint of sweetness to it.
Around the 3/4 point of the bowl, the woody flavor became more pronounced. The finish changed to a more woody flavor with a light black coffee bitterness and the nutty flavor disappeared.
A little bit after the 3/4 point, but before the mid-bowl point, I started picking up on some spiciness. A little bit after the mid-bowl point the spiciness faded into the background, but it never completely left.
This is a pretty good Latakia blend. It smoked cool, dry, and didn't bite. But be warned, there is a lot of Latakia in this blend. I Recommend it.
