A Pleasant Surprise

Wanting a companion to my morning coffee I thought i would give this a try. This was my first taste of a Cornell and  Diehl brand of tobacco. Upon opening a tin purchased one month ago, expecting a strong tin aroma, there was just a faint note of coffee and cocoa. It was a good moistured tobacco not needing any drying and was colored a very dark brown and black in a coarse cut. I packed it with a gravity fill and light tamping and the tobacco lit right up not requiring a re-light at all.Instantly the tobacco tasted great with soft tones of cocoa and coffee that lasted throughout the bowl.It has a matching room note that caused me to take a bit through  my nose repeatedly. The flavor had me puffing hard and I had to concentrate to slow down a bit. There was no gurgle or dottle and burnt right to the bottom of the bowl with a fine ash. This was a really enjoyable smoke with just enough flavor and absolutely no tongue bite.
