Little More than a Fun Crumble

We at Piper's Depot have found C&D to carry some very fine blends, but found this one to fall a little short.

The experience of opening the tin and being greeted by very pleasant earthy aromas was promising, and crumbling then packing this cake was certainly enjoyable. This bowl didn't get too hot; it behaved itself with a pretty steady burn.

But...

Virginia and Burley in the right proportions should make for some sort of sweet/earthy balance. Still we found Cornell & Diehl Briar Fox to fall more into the Burley camp and at times, almost tasted more like a cigarette than a bowl of tobacco.

It was not too unpleasant, but not something we decided to carry at Piper's Depot, since our tobaccos must score at least an 85 out of 100. This fell somewhere around 75%.

Pipe Used: Peterson Rocky Donegal 106
Tin Age: New
