Pelican by Butera I love both Pelican's and its sister blend Kingfisher's tin art. Cut is shaggy pressed loosely into a rectangle puck that seems to preserve moisture. Rubbing out requires no more than just scratching your proper measure off the top. I have found that its is a uniformly great smoke in all types of pipe shapes and sizes with none performing better than others. From the start the perfumed Orientals are more in the fore front but midway the English notes share the stage.Pelican doesn't seem to tounge bite unless you puff away like a freight train. The room note is quite similar to the incense used in Eastern Orthodox churches, which I find pleasant. It is also a fine blend to smoke outside as its flavours and aroma are still detectable in open air. This mixture likes to stay lit and will burn down completely to a light grey ash offering nice flavour variations upon tampfing. Also Pelican can be had at a great price ($12.00 USD) for a quality smoke I can compare favourably to any other Oriental I have smoked. Try it, you won't be disappointed. |
