Tin Description: The finest cube-cut Burley, chosen for its deep, nutty flavors, forms a robust foundation for this sophisticated blend. Rich, red Virginia tobaccos are added for their subtle sweetness and complexity, while the unique spice of perique provides added dimension. A delicate kiss of brandy polishes the blend to a perfect finish. Barbary Coast is delightfully satisfying, with hints of black walnut, dark chocolate, and dried fruits. The perfect "all-day" smoke!

A Great Blend!
This was a new tin and had no age on it at the time of review.
The tin aroma of this blend is nutty, sweet, and slightly fruity smelling. It smells great. The moisture content is a little on the wet side and some drying time would not hurt.
At the beginning of the smoke, there was a nice sweet and fruity flavor with a hint of nuttiness to it. The fruity flavor is not overbearing and it is also not a 'candy' like flavor. It tastes like real dried fruit.
The fruitiness gradually faded and by the mid-bowl point, it was sitting far in the background. While this was happening, the nutty flavor was gradually increasing and moving into the foreground. The transition of the flavors were very nice. Right around this time, I started to pick up on some very light hints of chocolate in the flavor and aroma. This change in flavor lasted through to the end.
Although this blend has Perique in it, I never tasted any of the typical spicy/peppery Perique flavors, and I did not mind it at all. In fact, I believe that if there had been any of the typical Perique flavors, it would have diminished the overall flavor profile of this blend.
This is a great blend and I love it! It smokes cool, dry, and didn't bite me at all. I think that this blend is somewhere in between the VA/Per and Aromatic categories. If you normally smoke blends in either of those two genres, I think that you will really enjoy Barbary Coast.
I Highly Recommend it!
